Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Project Assistant (FullTime), to help in the organisation of the MD Programme run by the University of Mauritius in collaboration with the University of Geneva, Faculty of Medicine and the Ministry of Health & quality of Life (MOHQL).

Qualifications Required

  • Any Scientific Degree (preferably in Life Sciences or Health-related fields)
  • An IC3 certificate would be desirable

Profile

  • Candidates must have:
  • Excellent Communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Strong computing skills with good knowledge in MS Word (formatting and mailing knowledge), MS Excel (pivot tables and simple tricks to facilitate and optimise use of this programme) and MS PowerPoint.
  • Administrative and Management skills would be an advantage.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • To provide assistance to the Master of Medicine Programme Coordinator in administrative tasks required in the overall coordination of the Master of Medicine Programme
  • To take notes and keep records of “Master of Medicine Clinical Curriculum Committee” meetings chaired by Master of Medicine Programme Coordinator.
  • To help in timely organization of time-tables for clinical rotations, structured teachings and formative assessments in the different LCE units in Year 4 and Year 5, and in communicating those to students and resource persons involved.
  • To help in timely organization of time-tables of internship rotations for MD Year 6 students.
  • To ensure timely printing and distribution of booklets to students and resource persons in structured teaching organised in the different LCE units.
  • To ensure optimal communication between MD students and resource persons in delivery of LCE Units and LCE Unit Coordinators, and between LCE Unit or TD Coordinators and the Master of Medicine Programme Coordinator.
  • To help to prepare requests for payment to resource persons involved in the delivery of LCE or TD units within the Master of Medicine Programme (lecturers, tutors in cased-based learning, clinical tutors in the ward, LCE Unit Coordinators, RHD or his/her representative at Dr AG Jeetoo Hospital/specialised hospitals).
  • Any other cognate duties as may be assigned by the Master of Medicine Programme Coordinator.

Remuneration

A monthly salary of Rs. 23,000 plus refund of travelling expenses by bus.

Duration of Contract

Appointment will be offered for a contractual period of 12 months. The contract is renewable upon satisfactory performance. The expected starting date is 15 January 2018.
