Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Research Assistant (Full-Time), to work on the research project entitled “An Audio Based Mobile Learning System using Interactive Voice Response(IVR) Technology to empower Mauritian Farmers”, for a contractual period of 10 months.

Qualifications Required

  • Degree in Computer Science or Applied Computing or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering or Physics or Mathematics or any other related fields

Profile Candidates must have:

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • programming skills with adequate knowledge in Web, Database and Mobile Communication Technologies

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Research on Audio Based Learning and Telephony Systems
  • Liaising with FAREI to develop audio based content on farming practices
  • Design, development and deployment of An Audio Based Learning System over the telephony network
  • Perform a detailed system evaluation of the overall system performance.
  • Testing and assessing usage behavior and system effectiveness
  • Conducting field surveys and training
  • Report Writing
  • Any other cognate duties

Remuneration

A monthly all inclusive allowance of Rs 25,525/-, excluding travelling expenses by bus.

Duration of Contract

Appointment will be offered for a contractual period of 10 months. The starting date will be 5 February 2018.
