The SICOM Group, a major player in the Insurance and Financial Sector in Mauritius, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position: 

Candidate Profile

  • Holder of a Degree or a Professional Qualification
  • A Post Graduate Diploma/ Degree/or  Masters in HR would be an advantage.
  • At least 5 years proven post qualification work experience in an HR environment. Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of human resources administration including industrial relations
  • Well conversant with local labour legislations and regulations
  • Fully conversant with Union matters and ability to communicate and negotiate with union representatives
  • Strong analytical skills and decision making abilities
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to master Human Resources Information Systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Results-oriented leader who can develop and manage relationships across the Group
  • Ability to advise Senior Management, establish and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Ability to meet deadlines

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be required, inter alia, to perform the following duties:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to reflect the changing needs of the Group
  • Manage the operations of HR processes and systems and act as facilitator to the different Business Units
  • Manage and enhance the Group’s Performance Management System
  • Develop, advise ,implement  and communicate management policies
  • Ensure that policies, procedures and practices are aligned to strategic objectives
  • Participate in both internal and external communication activities of the Group as required
  • Handle discipline, grievance and any employee relations matter
  • Communicate and conduct negotiations with Union
