Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Research Assistant (Full-Time), to work on the research project entitled “Data Analytics for Real-Time Disease Outbreak Management and Surveillance in Mauritius”, for a contractual period of 10 months.

Qualifications Required:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Applied Computing or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Physics or Mathematics or any other related fields

Profile Candidates must have:

  •  Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Programming skills with adequate knowledge in data structures, algorithms and databases

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Critical analysis of related algorithms, platforms and models.
  • Formulation and implementation of appropriate models for disease outbreak detection in Mauritius.
  • Database design and development of crowdsourcing mobile application.
  • Detailed evaluation of the system.
  • Report writing.
  • Any other cognate duties.


  • A monthly all inclusive allowance of Rs 25,525/-,
  • plus travelling expenses by bus.

Duration of Contract:

Appointment will be offered for a contractual period of 10 months. The starting date will be 6th November 2017.
