Qualifications Required

  • Degree in Computer Science or Applied Computing or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics or Physics or Mathematics or any other related fields – Non-IT graduates should indicate the relevant IT modules they have completed.

Profile

Candidates must have:

  • Research and analytical skills
  • Strong programming skills with adequate knowledge in Algorithms, Databases and Web

Some biological knowledge may be a bonus but is not essential.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • To develop a novel algorithm to perform functional annotation of hypothetical proteins.
  • To develop a Web interface to make publicly available the resulting algorithm.
  • Any other cognate duties

Remuneration

A monthly salary of Rs. 25,525 and traveling expenses (bus)

Duration of Contract

Appointment will be offered for a contractual period of 8 months. The expected starting date is 15 January 2018.

3. Trainee Project Assistant (Full-Time)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of  Trainee Project Assistant (Full-Time), to work on the research project entitled “The formulation of algal-based fish feed supplement/diet”, for a contractual period of six months in the first instance, renewable subject to availability of funds.

Qualifications Required

  • A Degree in Marine or Biological Sciences or equivalent

Profile

Candidates must have:

  • Research and communication skills
  • Analytical skills and adequate knowledge in the relevant field of Research.
  • Ability to swim, snorkel and/or dive for collection of algal samples
  • Ability to work on feed formulation and design will be an advantaged
  • Ability to work with statistical tools will be an advantaged

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collection of samples from the sea
  • Assistance in experimental design
  • Processing in samples in laboratory
  • Analysis of samples and report writing

Remuneration

A monthly all-inclusive allowance of Rs 13,000/-, plus travelling expenses by bus.

Duration of Contract
