Salon de la Maison et du Jardin 2017 – Ile Maurice

The Annual Event – Le Grand Salon de la Maison et du Jardin was held between 25th – 29th October 2017 at Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre, Pailles. Open to the public for an Entry Ticket price at Rs. 50 for Adults and Rs. 25 for Children, the event is open between 10am till 7pm. A Shuttle (Navette) is also provided for free at Victoria Bus Station. (I wonder whether for kids/children, entry should had be free?? What do you think?)

For me, visiting the salon this year did not feature anything new. Same Exhibitors, same products, and they are even at the same stall location. For eg. had bought Orange-coloured cleaning cloth for Rs. 500 – buy 2 get 1 free, at the same stall, at the same location and with the same guy! (african guy speaking with Microphone). But this orange cleaning cloth looked to be a bestseller as almost many visitors I saw were carrying this product, post-purchase.

Albert Trading

Since I wanted to purchase some new Ceiling Lights etc, I had enquired at Albert Trading showroom at Venus, Port Louis, whether they have new collection. The salesgirl replied me that at Salon de la Maison, there will be the new products displayed. I went straight to their stall, but was a bit disappointed. No choices available of different designs. I preferred my nearby electrical appliances store / hardware store where had more choice.
